I don't mean to bash at all, I even know a NV shipper, but I just have to ask: Who else though these to getting together was extremely pointless and ridiculous

It seems to me they were only there to show that Nate had "stepped out of his UES bubble" (yeah, that lasted all of five minutes) and so that everyone could break-up and repair for season 2.

Umm...we got like a total of like 30 seconds of their relationship. I know a lot of fans were happy with the off-screen romance, but I'm not really sure where I stand in VN.
What I REALLY wanna know is..Why did they break up
Admin's Note:[/hr] I mean, I know that SD JUST broke up, but if that is the reason for VN to break up, I'm gonna throw something at someone.
Surprisely, we saw a little bit more of Nate's personality when he was around Vanessa. That scares me. So, as far as his character development, it helped, but their relationship really did seem pointless.
I can't vote yet until I figure out how I truly feel about them.

they were okay
they werent amazng but i dont hate them like chloe
like jackie said we did get to see more of Nate and i think that was important to the show. but it was all kinda weird in my opinion

Though, I admit, my favorite VN scene is of them getting into the limo after the SATs. Or..maybe it's just because of the looks on both Dan and Blair's faces when they see VN together. *shrugs*

Honestly I think NV were kind of there to lead to NS and DV (okay, thats wishful thinking on my part) LOL. But if NS are completely ruined in season two NV have the potential to be my OTP as I thought they were cute. I was really expecting more of a reaction from Dan on NV. I want jealous Dan! Because I love DV. NV were so unexpected I was really like wtf

They have the potential to be a good couple if SN are completely ruined. But if NS still don't get a chance in season two, they could make a really good couple too.

I know what you mean about Jealouse!Dan. We got more in the look from Blair after the SATs then we did from Dan, but I guess Serena was on his mind

I don't hate NV - I even thought some of their scenes were cute (like the 'door step moment' thing). It's just that - like koko - I had a kind of 'wtf

I felt like their relationship was a completely fabricated plot device that sacrificed realism in order to move along the storyline. They broke up so quickly, as if the moment their relationship was no longer needed, they stopped caring for one another. Vanessa didn't even get upset.

Thing is, we didn't even SEE them break up. And Chuck didn't know about it until the phone call..A WEEK LATER, so I doubt it happened at the wedding.
Everything about them confuses me in some way.

I always thought they broke up right after the wedding. Nate was about to ditch her, until she caught him that is. Nice work Vanessa, keep track of your man. You never know when he'll sneak off with Blondie...
You make a good point though. Chuck should've heard about it. Hopefully you're right. That would change the relationship for me.

And I thought that they were okay, but what sort of really diasppointed me was Vanessa's character. I know that GG the TV series is wayyy off compared to the series novels, but I was kind of hoping for a bald-artsy girl. I kind of thought that the TV Vanessa looked a bit mainstream, which made me think that TV might have not been ready for a shiner amongst all the blondes and brunettes. I think it would have been more interesting to see a bald Vanessa cozying up to Nate on that door step.  |

I have to bring this back b/c as we all know by now NV is totally back. Yes I agree with everyone that NV was a little random and at the time a little useless, and I myself didn't know what to think of it but now I have to say that I am officially a NV shipper all the way. I mean they are so cute, and I don't know exactly what happened to them at the end of Season 1 but apparently nothing too drastic cuz they seemed on good terms when they started talking again. Nate probably got distracted with his dad leaving, his mom being a flake, and his soon to be evil jigalow love affair which at the time is still getting in the way.
But let's face it the days of NS aren't returning anytime they are dealing with there own issues, cuz of Nate's couger problem he isn't going to be getting with anyone anytime soon much less Serena who just broke up with the love of her life. So why fight a little bit of NV romance when we can embrace it, I mean come on you have to admit they would make a kinda cute couple. Besides I much prefer happy down to earth Nate as opposed to the messed up UES Nate I mean look where it's gotten him so far. I just hope NV don't end up with issues like SD

LOL. Lizzie I'm still all for Vanessa with a bald head, but after last night's episode I'm ok with her  I never really hated Vanessa's character in the series, it just felt like the writers threw her around in the first season. This season however, she's definitely making up for it. I guess that I'll admit that I might board the NV ship soon... Like now |

YAY!! Slowly the whole thread will be converted to the NV ship. I mean seriously they are a totally lovable couple. And I do agree that they did kind of just have her there until they figured out what to do with her, and then randomly threw Nate in the picture, but I think they did that to show he was getting over Blair and that it was over. Now they are really giving them a plot. So so happy.... ;D
