*smiles* Hello! *clears throat* Totally not here to bash, just state my view of these two. We're all friends, so we can agree to disagree and have fun with this discussion, yes
Admin's Note:
Good. I hate Blair/Nate. Ever since I started the first book back in 02. He doesn't understand her. He doesn't try. He doesn't care. He was always after the blond. Ultimiately, he wanted to have them both. But that's not fair to either persons involved. Blair has a lot of insecurities, and Nate doesn't help them. The pilot was based off the books, so we really saw that. Then, we have the Captain wanting them for business. And Nate does so because he will do anything for his family. But what about for himself
Admin's Note:
For Blair
Admin's Note:
He's taking advantage of him. She is completely in love with him, or the idea of him at times, and even though I'm BC, I still believe she will NEVER get the idea of Prince Charming out of her head. Which is why I think BC are doomed, but they still will win, but not important at the moment. What is, is that with Blair and Nate, I do not think either one of them is true to themselves. It's how it's supposed to be. It's like an arranged marriage. And it's not healthy. Then, we have "Hi Society," which sickens me, and not only because of that nasty!Wink. *cries* Nate wanted her because she was HAPPY. HELLO! RING RING RING! She's happy! She's not with you and she's Happy. Wake up, Nate. Can you at least try to be smart for once
Admin's Note:
Ugh..Okay, I'm done at the moment. I have no idea where I was going with this post half way through. Sorry. *hides*

^I agree with you, Nate doesn't seem to care as much I hope he would. =P But I still think that Blair and Nate are so cute together.

Um, hello. If no one minds... Here’s my take on BN. In the books, I really liked them. Blair was the only UES character I loved, so I wanted that happy ending for her, regardless of how uncaring Nate was acting at the present. See, that’s how I always thought of them – with BN it’s all about the past and the future. Nate was the only seemingly perfect thing in Blair’s life. He was her Prince Charming. He came in, and despite all of her insecurities and imperfections, wanted to be with her. Their relationship is heavily tied to Blair’s lack of self esteem. I mean, really, how confident could you be with a best friend like Serena, who appears to be great at everything
Admin's Note:
We know that Nate had feelings for both girls, but in the end, Blair got the guy. She had finally one-upped Serena. Someone had finally seen her as more than second best. People liked them together, they were the UES perfect couple. She was the star, and Nate was her hero. From the future aspect, Blair and Nate were constantly looking forward to what they could be – what they thought they obviously would be. I remember Nate saying he always felt he was moving toward something with Blair. I loved the part of You're the One That I Want where Blair and Nate were daydreaming about their lives after high school. It just represents BN so well. They are that fantasy couple. The only problem is, what happens at times when they can’t live up to the fantasy
Admin's Note:
I have mixed feelings about the TV series Blair/Nate. In the first few episodes, I detested how Josh portrayed them. It was all very biased. I definitely agree that BN had problems, and those problems did peak around the first third of the season, but the depth of their relationship was completely ignored in favour of the static characters we got. As well, it made Serena/Nate seem more justified. To me, that’s just annoying. Stop trying to shove one viewpoint down my throat! Present both and let me decide for myself. When Blair broke up with Nate, I was yelling, ‘Yes!’ I really wanted to like them, but at that moment all I wanted was for Nate to get what he deserved (unfortunately, he was not run over by a truck, disappointing me immensely). Seriously though, if I was Nate’s girlfriend I would have been tempted to off him the first day. I understand you have issues, but really, are you incapable of thinking of someone else for 5 minutes
Admin's Note:
Nate needs to learn that being in pain does not excuse him from acting like a human towards him girlfriend. I was glad when Blair and Chuck got together, but I have to wonder, does Blair love him, or is she just happy having someone who wants her
Admin's Note:
*hides from angry Chair fans* ... Okay. Moving on. Did I like “Hi Society”
Admin's Note:
Er... There should be a word in the English language that encompasses both ‘yes’ and ‘no’. I liked that Nate seemed to finally be appreciating Blair, since I felt like he was so focused on how Blair wasn’t Serena, he forgot why he liked Blair in the first place. At the same time though, I kept thinking, ‘you’re like a year too late buddy! Can we make this not about you for once
Admin's Note:
’ He further proved my point when he was apparently unable to forgive her for sleeping with Chuck. I get that he was angry – I would be too – but unless she was lording the SN hook-up over his head the whole time, I don’t see why he couldn't have forgiven her like she did him. For all my ranting though, I still love BN. Scenes like the ‘Goodbye, sweetheart’ at Thanksgiving, the ‘my heart on your sleeve’ during “High Society”, and Nate’s concern that Chuck was using Blair just make me fall in love with them all over again. Wow, that turned out a lot longer than I intended. Hopefully it made some form of sense. I guess my point is that TV Nate has a long way to go before he can be anyone’s boyfriend, let alone Blair’s. Still, they have the potential to get back to that love they had, even if it has lost its innocence.

I enjoyed your post. BN did have their cute moments midway season one, but to me, the HS thing with him wanting her back....well, he wanted her because she was happy. Uh..seriously, Nate. HELLO! And I was so happy they used the SWEATER, but ugh, he so manipulated her right there. (I didn't know he had the balls for that!)
The Thanksgiving flashback ending WAS adorable, though. I want more pre-boardingschool flashbacks!!!!!!!
The question of does blair love chuck Admin's Note:
is very debatable. We don't ACTUALLY know her feelings on Chuck, but I don't think it was revenge, like she tried to play it off to Serena.
I personally, want the CBN to last the entire series. There is so much potential with this triangle.

And I was so happy they used the SWEATER, but ugh, he so manipulated her right there. (I didn't know he had the balls for that!) You’re definitely right there. Nate cares for Blair, I truly believe that, but he only really wants the good parts of her. He isn’t willing to deal with her problems. I loved the sweater too, because it shows that they were in love at one point, but at the beginning of the episode it was like, ‘Nate, leave her alone you lacrosse-playing-polo-shirt-wearing freak!’ The Thanksgiving flashback ending WAS adorable, though. I want more pre-boardingschool flashbacks!!!!!!! I know! I love UES flashbacks (Dan and Jenny’s though, I could care less). The whole SNB triangle was so much more interesting. The question of does blair love chuck Admin's Note:
is very debatable. We don't ACTUALLY know her feelings on Chuck, but I don't think it was revenge, like she tried to play it off to Serena.
I gotta agree. We all know Chuck loves Blair, it’s fairly obvious. Blair clearly cares for Chuck, and I think she’s close to love, but so far I’m not entirely convinced. It would just be too quick. She only recently admitted to having real feelings for him. I’m hoping for some fluffy Chair in season 2! I personally, want the CBN to last the entire series. There is so much potential with this triangle. True. I’ve always thought CBN was the best triangle. There’s no one who’s unmistakably in the right. Every scene makes me change my mind.

I'm NS, but there is a sweetness to Nate and Blair. She thinks of him as her happily ever after and such. I love the CBN triangle and I agree that it should have lasted like all season. It seemed like Nate only wants Blair when she's happy or distant. And I loved the Golden hearted green sweater. So freakin' adorable!

I totally agree Sema! I love BN in the books. At least there it's showed that BN was not a forced thing. They got together willingly, and really loved each other.

I agree that BN was better in the books. In the show, they have the Captain all over Nate to stay with Blair for the deal. At least in the books, Nate was seriously conflicted over the two girls.
I still never liked BN, but I could read them more than I can watch them.
